Frequently Asked Questions

FINANCIAL QUESTIONS
What methods of payment do you take?

Payment is required within 24 hours of your session. Cash, e-transfer, PayPal and all major credit cards are accepted. We do not accept cheques.

Do you work with insurance companies?

At this time, Thrive Counselling does not do any third-party billing, however we provide receipts with every payment that can be submitted to your insurer. We can also supply invoices upon request. You may be covered in full or in part by your company's employee benefit plan. To find out if your plan covers these services, ask your coverage provider the following questions:

  • Do I have employee/family assistance plan (EFAP) benefits?

  • Is there a deductible and, if so, has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Do I need prior approval from my benefit provider?

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, we require 24 hours' notice in advance. If you do not attend your session or do not provide advanced notice, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.

Reduced Rates

Reduced fee services may be available on a limited basis through a situational assessment.

SESSION QUESTIONS
I prefer face-to-face appointments. Will you come to my home?

We look forward to seeing you in the future! Our office is located at 201 - 12 Cheadle St W in the Professional Building. We are considering options for home visits but currently have nothing in place.

I don't have a Zoom account, how can we meet virtually?

You can sign up for a free Zoom account on your computer or phone. This is required for our virtual sessions. If you do not have access to a computer or phone, please make arrangements with someone that does have access. Please also ensure that when meeting you are in a safe and confidential space.

Can we just meet over the phone?

I understand that video conferencing can be intimidating. I am open to a quick phone consultation to determine your needs, but the actual session must be done with video capabilities. This is because I often use visual aids to assist in the therapy and utilize visual cues from observing you as the client as well. This is part of building a relationship with each other to make the most out of the therapy process.
